Gender Phantoms

Struggling to access care in a climate of overt political hostility, a trans girl is left with no choice but to infiltrate an underground, definitely-not-entirely-legal competition for cis men racing each other to grow the biggest breasts. Unfortunately for her, her roommate and best friend has the same idea!

So begins a game of skullduggery and theatrics, where the two trans girl participants cannot trust anyone---even each other!---with their true identity, lest they risk being disqualified. Their machinations for the contest reach truly absurd heights as they're forced to navigate the social miasma of cut-throat rivals, reigning champions, and their own developing feelings for each other.

Can any of them find actual love and connection in a 'community' entirely designed around antagonism, suspicion and paranoia? Will they last undetected long enough to claim the prize? And if they lose each other on the way, unable to even confess who they really are ... will it matter?

Sisters of Dorley meets Stag Dance in this absurdist, satirical psychodrama by two transfeminine authors examining the conditions, both external and self-imposed, that prevent so many queer people from self-actualizing.
